I come across many businesses that seem to want to sell stuff online. My first question to them is “what makes you different”? We always must remember that the principals of business still apply to the world of online marketing.
There must be a reason why someone will buy from your website.
Do you offer: – better product, better delivery, better price, or better location? If none of these stand out to you, you may as well kiss your online investment goodbye. E commerce is pretty easy to set up, but not that easy to actually sell stuff.
If you fall into the category of Vanilla, compared to your competition, your chances of E commerce survival are slim and none.
Make sure you are creating differentiators with your product offering and catering to narrow target audience.
Vanilla is great in a cone, but not so much so in business.
